Republican Position on Marriage and the Family
In Contrast to the Demoncrat and RINO one. The RNC/GOP platform on Marriage and the Family.
On a thread I recently got into a discussion on a Facebook thread with a so-called republican who is running for Lt Governor in North Carolina. This is the comment he makes, and my response:
I quote him, anonymously, because this essay is making a bigger point, particularly against the worse position of Democrat Representative Ross who thinks it is okay to mutilate little kids who may be “confused about their gender” to sterilize them and “change them”, the liberal cure for homosexuality is obviously for them to make an effeminate or tom boy/girl into their “proper sex, with constructed appendages”, that do not function properly as God designed.…..
Here is his Quote
”Well I have been faithful to my partner for 27 years, I believe in a strong family, I encourage those that can have strong families to do so. I believe in family, faith, and freedom. I also believe in life, liberty, and equality.
No one is perfect and you are right your vote falls on how you perceive your candidate. I do think you are wrong that everyone that's a registered Republican believes the same as you.
I also think it's not others'rights to condemn others or set others based on the "moral path" your religious beliefs set you on. We have freedom of religion and faith and that's what makes our country great. I feel you need to leave it up to the individual and God for them to settle their faiths path.
I am a Republican regardless of how you feel about it. There are 2.2 million other registered Republicans plus 3 million unaffiliated that will potentially vote for myself and probably not many by your strict standards”
And here is my response:
”You are welcome to run. But, anyone pushing alternate lifestyles in Republican primaries won't win. The GOP platform makes clear that marriage is between one man and one woman. Are you someone who agrees with the Republican platform or someone who pretends to and wants to shove your faux marriage in Republicans faces in the primaries? That is totally up to you. Besides, your sexuality doesn't give you credentials to be Governor or Lt Governor.
Good luck, I would never vote for you. The fact you made it part of your platform is your problem not mine. I quote from the current RNC/GOP Platform of 2016, page 31, which has been reaffirmed every convention since then. It also rules out a man and a woman who cohabits as well, and being contrary to the American Republican family ideal:
If you claim to be a faithful Republican and want to represent us, you need to believe and teach as we do, particularly about the American family.”
From Page 31 of the GOP platform.
