Prioritize birth control
This letter to the editor of the Omaha World Herald is logical, but out of touch with our biological nature. Outside of marriage, sexual immorality is not generally well-planned and coordinated. It is a sin of the flesh. Abortion and contraception are connected—the world sees the connection quite clearly. While not the same, they both have the same ultimate goal: no children.
Christians should not use worldly language. There is planning in life—but our God above does the planning, we are his mere instruments. The control man wants is not over “birth”—it is lifestyle and comfort we think we are controlling above all, especially God Himself. The birth itself is not the main complaint—it is another life that is not our own. Caring for another’s life is the burden of sinful man, while the birth is over relatively quickly.
If adults could resist the urge for immorality, and be chaste and avoid marriage, abortion would not be an issue. However, this goes against our ve…
